SWIMWEAR MAKES A SPLASH AT 5th ANNUAL MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK SWIM - JULY 17th
2010 Inaugural MIAMI BEACH, FL – (July 28, 2009) – ”Lynyrd Skynyrd meets sexy vintage ‘70s” was the theme strutted at the True Religion swim show during the 5th annual Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim on Friday, July 17, 2009 at Cabaña Grande at the Raleigh Hotel. Models flashed peace signs and smiles as they showed-off the 2010 collection, which featured vintage inspired tie-dye prints with boy-short bottoms; denim two-piece bikini sets; textured monokini’s in faux snakeskin fabrics and gingham and denim swimsuit rompers reminiscent of Jessica Simpson’s “Dukes of Hazzard.”
Celebrities including Grammy Award-winning singer, Elvis Crespo; singer Ana Cristina, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” reality star, Dina Manzo and “America’s Next Top Model” contestant, Anchal Joseph danced in their seats to soul, funk and rock ‘n’ roll spun by DJ Irie – who returned to Miami from traveling on tour with Jamie Foxx specifically for the show.
“This season was all about the roots of the True Religion brand,” said Fawn Arthur, Creative Director of Sea and Sun Swimwear, exclusive licensee for True Religion swimwear. “We have designed looks that complement the brands ‘hippie identity,’ while offering signature touches of pop colors, unique stitch-work and playful takes on the popular logo.”
