Poko Pano and Paola Robba

Poko Pano designer Paola Robba 2009 couture collection stemmed from the sensations brought about from the musicality of Bossa Nova. The collection mixes elegant patterns that travel from 1950’s retro to geometrism, while also incorporating modern architecture. Paola says that her inspiration came from using the 50th anniversary of Bossa Nova music. She describes the collection as, “If the attraction for what was new in 1958 was today; represented by technology in the digital world.”

Question: What adjective would you use to describe this collection and explain why?
Answer: Brazilian, I always like to use Brazilian aspects to design Poko Pano. And elegance! This season’s swimsuits are appropriate for many occasions, a weekend on the beach or a unforgettable night party.

Question: How did you decide on what colors to use?
Answer: The colors come from inspiration, in these cases Amazonia {São Paulo} and Paris.

Question: When deciding on the material what did you look for?
Answer: I always look for the latest technology in products {materials}, to provide comfort, quality, and durability to my clients. I also worry about sustainability, we donate the pieces from the fabric to institutions that use it for artistic works.

Question: What makes your line stand out from the rest?
Answer: All the rich colors and it’s sophistication.

Question: What celebrity would you love to see wearing one of your designs and explain why?
Answer: For Poko Pano I´d love to see Mischa Barton, because she represents the colorful beauty and sophistication of a woman. For Paola Robba; Carrie Bradshaw, with all her sensuality and strong personality.

Just like the music the collection emanates grace, and translates itself into a romantic and intimate collection with special detail in each piece.
