The fifth season of Lviv Fashion Week taking place in Lviv (Ukraine) from May, 20 till 23, 2010 has finished. The event took place at LEMBERG Exhibition Centre (176 Khmelnytskoho Str.) During Lviv Fashion Week, outstanding couturiers as well as young promising designers presented their collections of the 2010-2011 autumn/winter season. The shows of 24 collections were attended by about 10 thousand guests including over 200 representatives of mass media from Ukraine, Russian Federation, Belarus, Poland, France, Great Britain, the USA, Canada, and the UAE.
Presentation and the first exhibition of the new fashion-project “FASHIONABLE COUNTRY” (MODNA KRAINA) made the official opening of Lviv Fashion Week. The objective of it is to create a high-quality project of Ukrainian Fashionable Photography development and present Ukraine via the internet to the whole world as a vivid, fashionable, modern and living country. The new fashionable project www.modnakraina.com includes most unexpected locations, combinations of the illogical, emphasis on the non-typical, satire, eccentricity, love for paradox and audacity, provocation and originality, optimism and joie de vivre. The first night of the project took place on May 20 in Rafinad People Club, an official partner of Lviv Fashion Week.
Lviv Fashion Week Style Show, an original Lviv Fashion Week fashion parade, opened the three-day long show marathon of the fifth season of Lviv Fashion Week. 28 designers contributed to the show dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the Fashion Week each presenting one dress in the typical palette of black and white with red accent. The collection included over thirty stylistically various looks – from extreme avant-garde to classical. Lviv Fashion Week Style Show commenced with a dress from a well-known duet STETSYKBOLDYRYEVA with the final entrance of a dress from Roksolana Bogutska. Besides, the works of Olesya Telizhenko, Liliya Litkovskaya, Yulya Lekhiv, Petro Nesterenko-Lanko and others.
During Lviv Fashion Week, collections of the following designers were presented: Maryana Gromysh, Alicja Czarniecka for the brand Sax35th.com (Poland), Olesya Telizhenko, NASHE, Iryna Kovalenko, Iryna Sytyuk, Yujen fashion, Mykytuk&Yatsentyuk, Katarzyna Bies (Poland), Roksolana Bogutska, Ulyana Barabash, Alexandr Vasilyev, Ksenia Serbin, Liliya Litkovskaya. Plenty of new names were introduced during Lviv Fashion Week, i.e. Natalia Lozynska, Natalia Filatova, Olya Romanova, MALWA-FLOREA, Salieva Irina, La Germaine, Ivanna Yukhymchuk, Syuzanna Slastion.
In frames of Lviv Fashion Week, Olesya Telizhenko displayed her renewed collection Wild Space (Dykyi Prostir) in which special attention was devoted to male garments. The designer wished to protect a man from excessive femininity and “unisex” style which have enslaved reality nowadays and restore a strong and brave man back to the world. Colourful embroidery of the Eastern Podillia notable for its ethnic flavour and geometry was the major ornament in the collection. The basic principles of the designer were by no means compromised in the new collection as natural materials like linen, cotton, wool and cashmere were solely used.
As a result of cooperation with Fashion Philosophy Fashion Week Poland, a partner of Lviv Fashion Week, the guests of Lviv Fashion Week had a chance to see a new collection of autumn/winter 2010/2011 by Katarzyna Bies (Poland) created under the influence of her visit to Morocco and Tunisia.
The new collection of Roksolana Bogutska which enjoyed spectacular success during Fashion Philosophy Fashion Week Poland on May 7, 2010 was displayed during Lviv Fashion Week. The general image of the collection was supremely elegant, modern and stylish: stark silhouette, modern forms, leather and real fur, great number of accessories, colour range based on black, green, brown with white and red accents in final entrances, harmonious colour schemes and fabrics created to the design of the artist. The source of inspiration for the creation of the collection was art deco with its femininity, sophistication, and luxury.
The guest of honour of Lviv Fashion Week was an outstanding Russian couturier and artist, the General Director of Moscow Fashion House, Professor Vyacheslav Zaitsev. His new collection Slava Zaitsev impressed the audience with its refinement, sophistication, rich décor and colour saturation.
The collection Winter Night Dream (Son u Zymovu Nich) by Liliya Litkovskaya was the final show of Lviv Fashion Week. It is a non-profitable art-project in which glamorous appearance yields to the inner world of the person wearing the garments. The new collection of Liliya Litkovskaya sticks to the principle of duality: black and white, hot and cold, rough form and tender content. Practically all garments from the collection Winter Night Dream (Son u Zymovu Nich) are transformers which reflects originality of designer’s ideas and novelty of her artistic approach.
May 23 witnessed a presentation of new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet in frames of Lviv Fashion Week. The guests had a chance to see the creature of German engineers, embodiment of comfort, quality and designer approach. Western Ukrainian Automobile House Mercedes-Benz is an official partner of Lviv Fashion Week.

Besides, this season of Lviv Fashion Week witnessed the presentation of a new exclusive product of Lviv Chocolate Workshop, i.e. a chocolate bar (260 g) representing the emblem of Lviv Fashion Week (a button) made of white chocolate.
On May 23, 2010 the fourth charitable auction took place in frames of Lviv Fashion Week. The profit received will be used to purchase necessary equipment for Regional Centre for Children’s Endoscopic Surgery and Neonatal Surgery. Elements of interior decor, clothes, accessories, pictures and photographs granted by well-known Ukrainian designers such as Olena Dats, Roksolana Bogutska, Oksana Karavanska, Liliya Litkovskaya, Olesya Telizhenko and others as well as artists of various genres like Yuriy Dyachyshyn, Valeriy Nesterenko and others made auction items.
Fashion Week loud parties occurred in RAFINAD PEOPLE CLUB, a partner of Lviv Fashion Week.
Enormous number of people visited LEMBERG Exhibition Centre in three days. All guest had a wonderful possibility to witness a high level of show organization and growing scale of the project.
